About

Ruled for the books we keep. Bound for the returns we finish.

Ruled & Bound prepares tax returns and keeps books for US CPA and EA firms — and only for them. The name says what we do, and the promise we make to every firm.

Why Ruled & Bound

Three meanings in one name

R

Ruled — the books

Ruled paper is the lined ledger accountants have always kept books on. It stands for the monthly work: transactions coded, accounts reconciled, a clean close.

B

Bound — the finished return

A bound document is complete and ready to hand over. It stands for the return, prepared with its workpapers, ready for your review and signature.

§

Ruled by the rules

The work follows the rules that govern it: a PTIN for every preparer, your client's consent before any file is shared, SSNs masked by default.

✓

Bound to your firm

We are bound by contract to the firms we work for. Our engagement letter carries a written non-solicitation clause, and every client conversation stays with you.

The mark

A ledger, bound and totalled

The lines in our mark are the ruled lines of a ledger. The red bar down the side is the binding. The double rule under the last line is the mark accountants draw under a final total.

How we work

A small team, built around your review

We prepare inside your systems, list every open question, and hand each file back for your review. You sign, you file, and you keep the relationship.

Where we work

A team in [COUNTRY], working US hours [overlap].
