Security
How your clients' data is handled
Every control, stated plainly — so you can check it against your own WISP.
SSNs masked by default
Intake works with masked numbers; the full SSN stays in your own software.
Multi-factor sign-in everywhere
On every system that touches client information.
Work stays in your systems
We prepare inside your tax software and your client's ledger, so client files stay in your systems.
Written Information Security Plan
Built on IRS Publication 5708. [available on request — once written]
A PTIN for every preparer
Every person who prepares or helps prepare a return holds their own PTIN.
Client consent
Consent comes before any file
Before your firm shares a client's tax return information with a preparer located outside the United States, the client must consent in writing. The consent must include a prescribed statement; a longer one applies when the SSN is included, which is one reason we work SSN-masked.
The required statement (SSN masked)
"This consent to disclose may result in your tax return information being disclosed to a tax return preparer located outside the United States."Rev. Proc. 2013-14
Your firm collects and keeps the consent; the file starts once it is on file.
